Terms and conditions

These terms apply to the use of assortica.com and to membership of Assortica. By registering you accept them. Please read them before you join; they are written to be read, not to be skipped.

1. Legal notice

assortica.com is operated by Globway International B.V., a company registered in the Netherlands (2651 AV Berkel en Rodenrijs) under registration number 66882915. In these terms “we”, “us” and “the company” mean that company, and “you” means the person holding the membership.

2. Intellectual and industrial property

Everything in the libraries, being the puzzles, quizzes, comics, recordings, backgrounds, worksheets and the articles around them, is either made for Assortica or is a work that is free of rights. It remains the property of Globway International B.V. or of the original rights holder.

You may use and print the material for yourself and for the people in your household. You may not copy, republish, distribute or resell it, and you may not use it commercially, without our written permission. Product names or trade marks that appear anywhere on this website belong to their owners, and their appearance does not imply any connection with them.

3. Access to the service

Assortica is a membership that gives access to six libraries of content in your browser: crosswords, sudoku and word searches; audiobooks and read-aloud stories; comics and illustrated reads; quizzes; backgrounds for your screens; and games and worksheets for children. Something new is added at the start of each week.

There is nothing to install. Everything opens in the browser, and material meant to be printed downloads as a PDF.

4. Members and account holders

A member is the person who uses the service. The account holder is the person whose PayPal account the payment is taken from, and who is responsible for the payment. In most cases these are the same person.

One membership covers the account holder and the people living at the same address. It is not for use by an organisation, a school, a club or a business.

5. Compatibility

The service works on a phone, tablet, laptop or desktop computer with a current version of a common browser such as Chrome, Safari, Firefox or Edge, and an internet connection. Audio needs a connection that can carry a stream; a printer is only needed if you want a puzzle or worksheet on paper.

We cannot guarantee that every feature works on a browser that is no longer maintained by its maker.

6. Where the service is available

Assortica is offered to residents of the United Kingdom and the price is shown in pounds sterling including VAT. The content is in English.

7. Your right to change your mind, and refunds

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations you have 14 days to change your mind about something bought at a distance. Because the libraries open the moment you join, you are asked at registration to agree that delivery starts straight away and to acknowledge that you then lose that 14 day right.

If you would rather keep the right, do not open the libraries and write to contact@assortica.com within 14 days. We refund you in full and, where a refund is due, we pay it within 14 days of agreeing it, by the same method you paid.

Beyond that, a month that has been used is not normally refunded, because the libraries were open to you for the whole of it. If a payment is taken after you cancelled, we refund it in full without argument.

8. Guarantee of conformity

We provide the service as it is described on this website: six libraries, open in full, with something new at the start of each week and no advertising. If a part of it does not work as described and the fault is on our side, tell us and we will put it right or refund the affected period.

9. What we ask of you

• You must be at least 18 years old.
• You must be the holder of the PayPal account used for the payment, or have that holder’s permission.
• Keep your login details to yourself. The membership is personal to your household.
• Do not use the service commercially and do not try to work around the technical limits of the site.

10. Suspension and ending a membership

We may suspend or end a membership if these terms are broken, if the service is used in a way that harms other members, or if a payment cannot be collected. Where we end a membership without a reason on your side, we refund the part of the period you have paid for and not used.

11. Our responsibility

We aim to keep assortica.com available at all times, but we cannot promise that it will never be interrupted, for example during maintenance or through a fault beyond our control such as a failure at a network provider. We are not liable for interruptions caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control.

Nothing in these terms limits your rights under UK consumer law, or our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.

12. Contact, customer service and complaints

Write to contact@assortica.com for any question about your membership, a payment or the content. A person reads it and answers within one working day. We aim to settle a complaint within 14 days and we will tell you if it takes longer.

Please never send us a card number, a password or a full bank account number. We never need them.

13. Jurisdiction and applicable law

These terms are governed by the law of the Netherlands, where the company is registered. If you live in the United Kingdom you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the UK, and you may bring proceedings before the UK courts.

14. Subscription terms

The membership costs £7.99 per month including VAT. It starts as soon as you complete registration and renews automatically every month on the same date, for as long as you keep it.

There is no trial period. The monthly amount is charged from the start, so nothing turns into a payment later without you knowing.

There is no minimum term, no notice period and no cancellation fee. You end the membership yourself in your own PayPal account, under the automatic payments for Assortica. You do not need our agreement and you do not need to contact us first. Cancelling stops future payments; your access continues to the end of the month you have already paid for. If PayPal will not let you cancel for any reason, write to us and we will stop it from our side.

15. Billing and payments

Payment is taken through PayPal. At registration you approve a recurring payment of £7.99 per month to Globway International B.V.. We do not receive or store your card details.

If a payment fails we will try again and let you know. If it still cannot be taken, access pauses until it is settled. We do not charge a fee for a failed payment.

16. One price, everywhere

The price you see in an advertisement, on this website and in your PayPal account is the same price. If we ever change it, we will tell you in writing, to the address on your account, in good time and before the change takes effect. A change never applies to a month you have already paid for, and you may cancel before it starts.
